LiteSplice does not collect your data. Your videos and projects stay on your device.
Last updated October 16, 2026
The short version
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- The apps do not track you, show ads or include analytics.
- Your videos, pictures, sound and projects are never uploaded. All editing happens on your own device.
- We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not have any.
LiteSplice for Android, iPhone and iPad
The mobile app does not send any information about you or your videos to us or to anyone else. Editing works without an internet connection. It goes online only to download things you ask for:
- Tool files. The first time you use a tool such as Smart Brush, Remove object or Separate stems, the app asks before downloading the files that tool needs, from the LiteSplice download site.
- Sticker packs. If you choose to download extra sticker packs, they come from GitHub.
As with any website, those services see the internet address the request comes from. Nothing about you or your videos is sent with it.
The app asks for these permissions, and uses them only for what is described here:
- Photos and videos. So you can choose the videos and pictures you want to edit, and so finished exports can be saved to your gallery. The app only reads the items you pick.
- Camera. Only when you choose Camera to film a clip for your project. The clip is kept on your device.
- Microphone. When you record a voiceover, and for the sound of a clip you film with Camera. On Android it is also what lets the phone's own speech recognition write Auto captions. Recordings are kept inside your project on your device.
- Speech recognition (iPhone and iPad). Only when you make Auto captions. Your video's sound is turned into captions on the device and is not sent anywhere.
If you join a beta test through Google Play or Apple TestFlight, Google or Apple may collect information such as crash reports under their own privacy policies. Feedback you choose to send through those services reaches us along with the email address of your account.
LiteSplice for Windows and Mac
The desktop app also has no account, no analytics and no ads, and it never uploads your footage. It connects to the internet only to download things for you:
- Updates. The app checks GitHub, where its releases are published, to see whether a newer version exists, and downloads it if you choose to.
- Optional downloads. If you ask for them, the app downloads extra sticker packs from GitHub and the speech model used for captions from Hugging Face.
As with any website, those services see the internet address the request comes from. We do not receive it.
This website
litesplice.com counts page views and download clicks so we know roughly how many people visit and which version they download. It does this without cookies and without storing your internet address. We cannot identify you from it, and we do not use it to follow you across visits or other sites.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes requests in order to deliver the pages.
Children
LiteSplice is a general video editor and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
